About this place
Make curry udon the centrepiece, or pair a rice bowl with a little soba. Kogaraya Abeno has options to suit different appetites and cravings. One diner ordered Japanese Black Wagyu curry udon as a set with rice and a raw egg. Their preferred way to enjoy it was to eat the noodles, mix the egg white into the rice, then add soy sauce and the yolk to make tamago kake gohan—rice topped with raw egg. It is a bowl to consider if you want to pair your noodles with rice, rather than sticking to the noodles alone.
For a lighter meal later in the evening, there is also a set of mini oyakodon and mini soba. One diner who visited alone at around 2 a.m. ordered this combination and recalled that the portion was still substantial. It could suit those looking to make a meal of a small rice bowl and soba, or wanting a hot noodle dish at a late hour.
Diners have also mentioned choosing katsudon or cold soba instead of udon. Pairing cold noodles with a rice bowl offers another way to eat here when you fancy something different from hot udon.
As well as dine-in, the Abeno branch offers delivery and takeaway. One customer who ordered curry udon for delivery said the noodles and broth arrived separately, making it possible to eat the dish at home. Published opening hours are split between 11:00 and 0:00 the following day, and 0:00 to 6:00, offering options from lunch through to late-night and early-morning meals.
